We arrange volunteering placements for anyone over 16 uears of age on their first day of work.
Work Placements are made in compliance with EU and UK laws, so any European High school student eligible to join a Work Related/Based Learning Program in accordance with the laws, standards and regulations of their Countries and bodies and persons involved will count as Curricular Traineeship.
For example over 16 year old Italian High School Students who have to do 5 to 10 weeks in the last three years of their studies. Irish students during their TY.
Ask your School Tutor for eligibility. We will assist you all the way.
To list an Unpaid Work Experience (Work Related Learning / Curricular Traineeship / Work Placement) you must register as a User and provide some data. Please describe in detail what you expect the Student to do, and rules, so to get only Students really interested to pick your listing.
After receiving an application by a Student (an email in which Student asks to do your Work Experience for a specific period of time), you may eventually start a messaging session and accept or refuse the request.
Complete your User data, our system will then automatically generate the documents with a touch of a button thereafter.
Red tape:
Sign Pact. You will find 4 signatures on it:
Student’s high school Headmaster’s; responsible for the experience;
School Tutor’s; responsible for the paperwork;
Their parent’s; responsible for all;
Student’s.
Sign Register. Ask students to fill it in daily with hours worked and few words to describe tasks fulfilled that day;
Complete the Evaluation form, which will be sent to your e-mail (4 questions to be marked fail or 1 to 4 which counts as school mark) upon student's departure;
If your school hasn’t got a learning agreement with us (convenzione) ask your School Tutor (Responsabile Alternanza Scuola Lavoro) if they can start a “convenzione” signed with us. We will assist you all the way.
Register to our website, it is free of charge to do so, and you will find out if your High School has already signed up, else, we will be able to assist you in organising a Work Placement for you (signing up we may use the data you provide in accordance with provacy laws).
If underage, one of your Parents must sign you up and Accept the Terms and Conditions of this Website to use the services provided.
Send your applications to the Workplaces you like and, upon acceptance by the Workplace Tutor of your candidation, download the “Learning Agreement” and sign it, it will have to be signed by your High School Tutor and one of your Parents too, the latter takes the responsibility of what happens to you outside the shop or inside it when your behavior is negligent and damage done proven to be willful. Signing the Patto formativo you will have to:
Complete safety courses in compliance with the Laws of the Countries involved (they are provided by your High School).
Make sure to hand in the documentation we provide to your High School, (your will have most of the data of the Persons involved automatically generated by the system) , with the Workplace listed; that is you take it signed as written above to your Work Tutor, have him or Her sign it in original and take it back to your High School Tutor.
Download, print, take with you, ask completion, that is to have it signed in original, to your Workplace Tutor and bring back the “Registro Presenze”
Get and pay any extra insurance, both required and desired
If your Hihgh Schools asks for one, prepare a research project about the Company you are going to work for in accordance with your High School Tutor (i.e. 10 hours which will count themselves as Work experience).
Send feedback forms after allowing your parents to double-check the content

If service will become available to your High School we will consider making you one of our Ambassadors when you turn 18.
If your child is over 18 you don't need to do anything. If they are under 16 you must wait till they turn 16 to take part in this project. If you have more than one child, you will have to register another account with another email (soon we will improve, sorry).
Over 16 Italian High School Students must, for law, get some Work Related Learning experiences (Alternanza Scuola Lavoro/PCTO) in the last 3 years of high school; learning while based in a real working environt is the best case scenario. It means doing work experience which will enhance skills and chances of getting a job after getting a diploma. Undoubtedly work-related-learning.org offers real life experiences, a thrive to independent behaviour, international perspective, and not to mention, real full immersion in the Culture, Work life and Language of the locals.
You must register to the Website to allow you children the use of the services, sign the learning agreement (patto formativo e convenzione) between the Workplace Tutor, High school and the Student which, for simplicity, includes both the so called “Contratto Collettivo” between the High School and the Work Tutor (typically the Workplace Manager).
Your signature explicits you take full responsibility for your child’s beaviour which isn’t covered by the Italian State insurance (as if the Student was really working, so the same coverage a worker gets). Take appropriate extra insurance you may desire.
Over 16 Students on Work Related Learning programs are covered by Italian State insurance as per the learning agreement pact signed by your child's High school Tutor and Headmaster, ask your high school about coverage. Moreover depending on any agency involved you may receive extra insurance by them, ask your agency about any extra coverage.
As High School Tutor you should know what to do. Work-related-learing.org Website prepares all the documentation automatically but you must verify if it is updated, complete and valid for your Regione and Istituto, read through it before signing it and complete it with any extra needed, remember to sign any handwritten notes added to the documents which had been automatically generated.
You, or any person with a Proxy by the Headmaster of the High School, must Agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Website and complete all the data necessary, add all of what believed as needed to the Learning Agreement automatically by the system generated and sent via my email once an application is accepted by the work tutor (“PATTI formativi” and “Contratti Collettivi”).

We want our company to be understood as a safe and trustworthy site. Despite we cannot guarantee the content and the single agreements users will make between them, we can assure feedback is real, based on bookings which must be requested and accepted by more people. All Work Placements and Volunteering work experiences arranged though our company are covered by an insurance which is comparable to a compulsory worker's liability insurance, so covered like other employees of the company/organisation.
Whatever not covered by insurance may cause unforeseen expenses, hereunder a list of unlikely events to get an idea.
Unlikely event and Likely costs:
- Loosing ID (you need to travel with) - expect at least £200/300 for Duties and Trip to Birmingam/London with agent needing to travel with Student to declare the identity of the minor.
- Caught Drinking (under 18) or dealing with any problem relating to the law - Hourly rate of local agent assisting Student on premises of the unlawful act or at police station (minimum charges apply).
- Getting lost - Hourly rate of local agent assisting Student and any eventually taxi service (minimum charges apply).
- Missing a flight - Urgency management charge, hourly rate of local agent assisting Student and any extra costs like new flight ticket, hotel, taxi and so on
- Causing damage (covered by insurance) - Hourly rate of agents assisting Student in his/her claim against insurance (minimum charges apply).
- Losing Luggage/money - Local agent may anticipate money in case of need, only hourly rate will be charged to get the money/clothing for/to the Student (minimum charges apply).
- Needing (any) assistance - Hourly rate of local agent assisting Student (minimum charges apply)
This is just a list of examples.
Typical hourly rates of local agents assisting clients are £ 20 an hour day-time and £ 40 night-time call expences with a maximum daily fees usually apply. Of course refer to your agents to know exact prices, quotes, insurance coverage you have with them.
